Something isn't working in our modern bodies. We're sleeping less, stressing more, and struggling with hormone imbalances at unprecedented rates. While most health companies rush to treat these as separate problems, Justin Hai and his team at Rebalance Health believe they've identified a single root cause: cortisol, what they call "the master hormone."
"Almost every molecule in the human body has a cortisol receptor," Justin explains. "When cortisol is elevated, you feel it systemically from your head to your toe." This insight would become the foundation of Rebalance Health's approach to wellness, but the path to this discovery wasn't straightforward.
The Discovery of the Master Hormone
Through extensive research into endocrinology, Justin noticed something intriguing: an unexplained surge in hormone replacement therapy across the board. "We were really curious as to why there was this huge uptick in HRT, whether it was testosterone supplementation or estrogen-progesterone uptick. But it seemed like doctors were administering HRT very, very quickly with very little due diligence on the patient."
This observation led him to cortisol, a hormone that few people truly understand but that impacts virtually every system in our body. What he discovered was startling: our modern lifestyle has fundamentally disrupted our cortisol patterns.
"If you flash forward to basically 1990s, and we invented the email, internet, and shortly thereafter iPhones, technology started to come into play. And what happened was our world accelerated," Justin explains. "Content, social media, streaming all came flooding into our world and that raised our cortisol because now you have anxiety associated with it."
The Sleep Connection
The impact of elevated cortisol becomes most evident in our sleep patterns. "If your cortisol is high, you can't fall asleep quickly, and you can't stay asleep," Justin notes. This creates a dangerous cycle, as poor sleep further disrupts our hormone production.
"In those 60 to 90 minutes of deep sleep, you make all your hormones you need to function the next day," he explains. "If you wake up in the night, you get less than seven to eight hours of sleep, you're operating at a hormone deficit because you forfeit the deep sleep."
The consequences are far-reaching: "You start being sluggish. You start gaining weight. You start losing muscle mass. Your hair, skin and nails show up differently. Your digestion operates differently. Libido goes away."
A Science-Backed Solution
Unlike many supplement companies, Rebalance Health built its solution on a foundation of rigorous science. Their approach to managing cortisol has shown remarkable results, particularly in addressing menopausal symptoms. Their clinical studies showed 100% efficacy, with women experiencing an average 80% reduction in hot flashes.
Dina Keenan, who joined as CMO in October 2023, experienced these benefits firsthand. "Within a couple weeks, having been up eight, nine times a night, I was sleeping through the night. I was having heart palpitations. They were gone. I was having joint pain. It was gone. Brain fog was gone, hot flashes completely gone."
The Modern Health Crisis
The scope of the problem is staggering. With 49 million women entering menopause globally each year and 80% suffering from debilitating symptoms, the need for effective solutions is urgent. But Justin sees an even bigger picture.
"The world needs to wake up and be aware that how we're living our life is actually killing us," he states. "We've become creatures of habits, entitlement, and we've lost our roots that are very much aligned with the sun, the moon, and the planet."
A Mission Beyond Business
For Justin and his team, this isn't just another supplement company. "This isn't about money. This isn't about having a successful branded company for ego. This is about doing the right thing and helping the planet."
The solution, they believe, lies in understanding and managing cortisol - the master hormone. It's about recognizing that our modern lifestyle, while convenient, has disrupted fundamental biological patterns that govern our health.
As Dina puts it, "We just keep getting those testimonials and that's what keeps us going because we know it works." Their mission continues to be helping people understand and address the root cause of many modern health issues: our disrupted cortisol patterns.
For the Rebalance team, each day brings them closer to their goal of helping people restore their natural hormone balance, one person at a time.
